1 Dead, 9 Injured

Bihar Bridge Collapse: One person died and nine others suffered injuries after a portion of an under-construction bridge collapsed near Maricha between Bheja-Bakaur on Friday.

The intended purpose of the bridge was to connect Bhagalpur and Khagaria districts. This bridge, which was still under construction and experienced a partial collapse, had an estimated cost exceeding Rs 1,700 crore and was originally slated for completion by 2019. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for this structure in February 2014.
