ED Arrests Arvind Kejriwal

After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday night in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy scam, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) reached out to the Supreme Court seeking interim relief from arrest. However, according to the latest update, no special bench of the Supreme Court is being set up tonight to urgently hear Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s petition challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the excise policy case. His plea is likely to be listed for hearing tomorrow, Friday.

Aam Aadmi Party workers took to the streets outside the CM's house on Thursday night in protest following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He was apprehended in Delhi by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case linked to the excise policy.

AAP's convener's arrest occurred just hours after the Delhi High Court rejected his plea for protection from coercive measures by the central agency.

Responding to Kejriwal's arrest, the BJP stated that the Delhi Chief Minister is facing the consequences of his actions and his attempts to evade the law have finally caught up with him. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra criticised the protests led by AAP leaders and supporters, describing them as a "celebration of corruption" and asserting that neither the people nor the courts will accept such behaviour.
